Lemon Cake

If you like lemon then this is an easy cake for you! My kids loved it and really enjoyed this new cake recipe I made. This cake takes a bit to cook but it is worth it. I need to keep working on this recipe but for the first try it really was good.


4 eggs, separated

1/3 cup lemon juice

1 tablespoon butter

1 1/2 cups white sugar

1/2 cup sifted all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups milk


Preheat your oven first 350 degrees F.

Beat together egg yolks, lemon juice, and butter until thick.

Combine sugar, flour, and salt into a seperate bowl. Now mix into the wet mix, you need to be mixing at the same time as adding dry ingredients and scraping the sides.

Now you need to Beat egg whites until they are stiff looking.

Fold egg whites into the batter, do this slowly.

Pour into baking dish, we used a round one.

Place a large pan of hot water in the oven(I filled the pan and put it into the stove while pre-heating), and set the baking dish into the pan while cooking.

Bake for 45 minutes. You can eat hot but I recommend letting it cool and eating it cooled off/cold.
