The Day of Negitivity

Yesterday was filled with nothing but negativity everywhere. What was in the water? Luckily I didn’t have any of that water everyone else seemed to be having served but I was exhausted by the end of the day.

What do you possibly get out of being nothing but negative?

I started my day at 9am yesterday with a meeting, then an informal meeting right after, finally some down time watching the kids play at our amazing library, and then back home where the negativity just seemed to continue. I came home to see a message from some stranger about something someone posted in a group I apparently am the ‘admin’ of that she didn’t like. This stranger sent me the same message 7 different times. Whatever the post was, it wasn’t there and all I can gather it wasn’t politically correct or just offended her. Regardless, I was tired by the afternoon and knew it wasn’t worth my stress.

Between the meetings, the complaining, the negative people, and the rest I wasn’t sure how much more negativity I could handle for the day. I was smart and decided not to read the news for the day, I knew that would only make it worse. I ended up having to handle more negativity and complaining anyway. You know how hard it can be constantly being the positive one in a sea of negativity and complaining? My brain was fried!
“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.” Luke 6:32
“But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him?” 1 John 3:17
“Instead, be kind and tender-hearted to one another, and forgive one another, as God has forgiven you through Christ.” Ephesians 4:32

And this is why we do it all. This is why we smile when we are trying not to scream. This is why we stay positive and come up with solutions instead of falling into the trap. This is why we find the good instead of focusing on the bad.
Tell me, where do complaining and negativity get you?
Have you actually ever gotten positive results out of it?
Have you really gotten more done complaining, saying no to everything, ignoring people, finding the one bad in a sea of good? Has that really accomplished more than positive words, productive action, and effort?
If you say yes, I may just have to challenge you. I see more accomplished in the community with positive actions, positives, words, and coming together and trying.

I spent the rest of my day coming up with solutions and ideas to all the problems around. Snuck some Oreos, and called it a good day regardless.
