10 Maine Artists To Love

Faithbox - Embrace Your Faith Today!

Maine is such a magical place! I have raved about this since I started my blog. Today I want to share 10 Maine Artists that I love! I share the artwork with my kids, library, or co-op and I love watching to see what they will do next. Being an artist in Maie takes such dedication. This isn’t New York, to be an artist here surrounded by so much beauty really takes a love of art and a love of time.

These are 10 of my favorite artists who live in Maine.

1.  Father-Son Duo from Blue Moose Publishing

If you have been following me for a while you know how much I LOVE Blue Moose Publishing. This company publishes amazing books but my favorite has always been Why the Moon Tumbled Out of The Sky by R. James Sands and Ronan Sands. Ronan is a homeschooled child and brilliant cello player who also did the watercolor artwork for all these books! They look amazing and I am in awe of his talent. I won’t forget the writing talent of R. James Sands, his rhyming poems are wonderful and humorous for a family read. These 2 artists make a great team and we are lucky to have them in Maine.

2. Cortney Ulm

Photography, Art, and Sewing. This artist has it all. A loving, hippy, mama vibe, you never know what soft and sweet talent this artist will put out next. She also offers custom products. Whether it be a painting, a beautiful photograph of Maine nature or one of her wall hangs, whichever you pick will look wonderful in your home.

3. Kimberly Mitchell

You never know what you are going to get with this funky multi-media artist and that’s a good thing! You never know what she is going to use. Her artwork is consistent in quality but what she uses and what she paints is always brilliant and new. You will love having a Kimberly Mitchell canvas in your home. The paintings always stand out. While she does do custom pieces I suggest just going through her galleries and picking your own because there is so much brilliant artwork to choose from.

4. Karen Richards

See that mask on the Lincoln Loon? Karen Richards made that! That is the secret talent hidden by this local Maine artist. What she can do with a sewing machine is pure art. I have watched what this seamstress comes up with for designs, alterations, quilting, and more and there is no end to the talent she holds. Karen also teaches sewing classes and is a published poet.

5. Hope Greising

What I love about this artist is that everything she makes is all out of recyclable materials, or trash as she told me when I first met her. I love her art because it is the perfect lesson for my children. What you see as trash and throw away, someone can not only use but create into something amazing. Hope has amazing talent and these tiny pictures do not do her talent justice.

6. Rebecca Harrison

Rebecca of Peacelovebeccer Photography has a gift with a camera. There are some people who say they are photographers and then there are people who ARE photographers and Rebecca is one of them. Whether it is a family session or the beautiful environment Maine has to offer, everything she does is flawless. God gave this gal an amazing talent.

7. Pammy’s Attic

Every time I drive by Pammy’s Attic I want to stop and I can’t because I know I’ll buy everything, which I bet these ladies would love :p. Pammy’s Attic has such amazing talent. Everything is crafted so beautifully and gives you a real feel for life in Maine. Everything is crafted with such care and happiness you really feel ‘Maine, the way life should be’.

8. Roger Stevens Jr.
