Welcome to the Happy Homeschooling Mum

Welcome to blog of Maine author Ashley Elizabeth Mitchell, always knowns as the Happy Homeschooling Mum. family

I am so glad you are here! I am a mum of 5, a certified doula who focuses on loss, an avid volunteer in my community, and author of four books. I homeschool my children in the greatest state in the world, Maine!

I am the author of:
Lost Poems of a Functioning Mother; the endless journey of babyloss
Carry Me Along
Summer Haikus from Lincoln, Maine
You are Wondrous

I enjoy creating and sharing recipes and crafts, lessons and worksheets, creating lists, and writing my thoughts. My goal is to always stay upbeat and positive. There is enough negativity around the world, I don’t need to be a part of it!

Please follow my blog to remember that you are not alone! Motherhood, writing, and homeschooling are not perfect and that’s ok!

I am here to tell you that you are doing an AMAZING job and you are wonderful! Thank you for trying your best every day. YOU ARE ENOUGH!

I really enjoy homeschooling my kids, telling the truth about motherhood, and living in a small Maine town. I am an avid community volunteer. I am a Quest Club leader, co-op teacher, secretary of my town’s events committee, on the library advisory board and vice president of our library friends organization, ACS Relay for Life team captain, and a volunteer with everything else I can find. I love to walk for a cause, get together with friends, and watch TV sitcoms, old or new. Thank you for being here and always reach out to let me know how I can help you!

  1. This sounds like a really fun blog! I think maybe we are kindred spirits! I grew up in Washington State and one of my best friends is from Maine. I lived with her in Bar Harbor one summer and tried to blend in with the locals! Ha! It is a beautiful place to be with lots of character. (Although I’m still pretty partial to my home state on the far other corner of the country, too 🙂 )
